Corpse Flower Blooming in Houston Tx this week. 2010

Marg took this picture of "Lois" the Corpse Flower, (Amorphophallus Titanum) It is called Corpse Flower  because it has a rotten smell like a dead dog,  just before it blooms then the smell lessens towards the end.  It is in the Museum in Houston Texas which has been  open to the public 24 hours 7 days a week for the last few weeks. Over 68,000 visited this rare flower over the last week. It grew 69 inches, about 4 inches a day the last week.  It will only bloom once in it's life time.
Don Kennedy sent me a site with live video when this started and have enjoyed this rare wonder. Last one to bloom in the USA was back in 1939 (year I was born). Thanks for the Picture Marg and update.

My Birthday from Luke! He is 10 Months old-I'm 71 years young.

I always love my birthday as my brothers and friends  call me. So Bless as we are all still healthy and living. At 70 I felt old and  had just  made it another year, at 71 feel younger and  look forward to 80.  Don K and I are the same age until his birthday on July 15 -my poor mother.   As kids we use to sit around the dinning room table and discuss the headlines in the paper. Jack K usually had the best points. My Gma Kennedy lived with us for many years so we learn early the views from around the world.
This little guy is only 10 months old, I wonder what his world will be like in 20 years, 40 or  70 years from now.  Keri and Matt are such good parents.  Luke loves the water and sure within weeks will be running all over the place.  He is just an inch from taking that first step.
June 8 2010   Thanks all for making this day so special  for me.

Mr. Sam wanting some attention also! Love this picture Keri....

New pictures of Luke

Well Little Luke is now 6 months old.  Hard to believe he is that old now.  Luke has such control of his hands at such a young age, He can pick up a piece of paper and inspect it for such a long time.  Has lots of wet kisses and those hugs just melt the heart. He has sat up for so long now but no tummy time for Luke, He is eating food now and loves every bite. Can hold his own bottle with no help from anyone. More hair is coming in! And four teeth!  Sam (the dog) and Luke are such good friends but Sam may be a little jealous if I can steal the picture off Keri's blog will share it with you later!  Luke loves the outdoors, if he cried just walk outside and the tears disappear. He doesn't cry much, just big smiles all the time and lots of talking which we can't understand yet!
Keri and Matt are such good parents, he is lucky he has two gma's who baby sit for him while the parents work.  Luke will go to anyone who reaches out to him.
It's wonderful to have a baby in the family again! Thanks Keri for letting me share these pictures from your blog!

Is that a Donald Trump hair do? Just kidding Keri! Luke & Matt

That smile is so sweet! 19 lbs 6 Months old

Is he getting more teeth? Put Luke outside for a few minutes and the tears stop!

Ancestors from Ireland, Scotland, USA, France, London, Australia

Carolyn and Lisa has been a great help in keeping all our ancestors in a neat order.  Carolyn started the family tree back in the 50's and Lisa (my brother, Jack- great grand daughter (Lisa)  about 4 years ago) With the help of Joy, Ed, Shirley, Bettye, Billy  and many others  have shared pictures and stories over the years.
If I have renamed some of your ancestors, or made mistakes on the video I'd love to know, as I look at the pictures they are about the size of my fingernail. Once I download the video I can not go in and correct anything.
